IN his early days of lyricism it was difficult to ignore Mac Miller’s love and passion for sneakers, with one specific brand being at the forefront alongside being engulfed by music.
One year after the infamous Donald Trump hit streaming services, we were introduced to Nikes on my Feet; a project sampling hip-hop legacy, Nas – The World Yours, intertwined with brand-heavy lyrics. What wasn’t there to love?
From an early point is his career, Mac was introducing fans to brands from far corners of America; anything between 10.Deep, Crooks and Castle or even Only NY, back when we weren’t obsessed with wearing the latest and greatest.
He carried the NY chic and forced its presence upon Pittsburgh; flipped caps, the Kanye-wear-a-rucksack-everywhere vibe and mixing-up Timberlands with Nike or Converse sneakers with baggy jeans or cargo pants. Mac miller indisputably lived an incredibly bright and vibrant life – a trait portrayed through his sense of fashion and music collectively.
